Charismagic Volume 1, Issue 5, created and written by Vince Hernandez, was originally printed in April 2012, and continued the story from Issue 4. It was illustrated by Khary Randolph and coloured by Emilio Lopez.
Official Description[]
In Costa Rica, Hank, Sudana and Sparkles surprisingly encounter the magical beasts known as the Guardians, defenders of the wizard Kon. However, the group is stunned to discover they arrived too late, as Kon was ambushed inside his temple by Samsun and a coven of witches alongside him. Yet, all hope was not lost as Hector managed to communicate with Hank via a portal between realms, leading the group to decide their only course of action is to storm Kon's temple and rescue the besieged wizard...
Plot Synopsis[]
In the skies above Costa Rica, Samsun does battle with a fiery avian creature. The creature claims to serve the ideals of the Order of the Five, which Samsun violated. Samsun defeats the creature, proclaiming his rulership over Earth and its magical inhabitants.
Elsewhere, in the jungle, Sudana tutors Hank in the usage of his vanishing abilities, allowing him to travel incredible distances with a thought, first to Nepa Valley, then across realms to an unknown cliff peak in the Realm of the Druids.
Meanwhile, in the Void Realm, Alle confides in Hector that she is overwhelmed by their circumstances. Hector reassures her, stating that she should trust in Hank. She confesses that her trust in Hank is lacking, but that she does trust Hector.
Later, in the Costa Rican jungle, Sparkles and Dalgo discuss the mechanics of crossing between realms. Dalgo explains that conventional travel between realms through portals is totally impossible for humans and magic creatures, as they would disintegrate upon attempting to breach the portal barrier, unless they were sent through by another magic user. In this way, Hank is an extremely useful asset, able to traverse realms at will. Ending the conversation, Dalgo offers to decorate Sparkles with magical markings.
Hank and Sudana reappear in the Costa Rican jungle and are greeted by Sparkles, Dalgo and the remainder of the guardian panthers. The party makes its way to Kon's Temple, entering in short order and locating Kon, who has been absorbed into the Wall of Souls, the barrier between Earth and the Void Realm.
They are soon ambushed by the trio of witches. Sparkles charges at the heftiest one, but is struck down by powerful magic before she comes close. Hank vanishes, reappearing next to the hefty witch, allowing him to deliver an uppercut to her jaw. Petra is swiftly killed by Sudana, who delivers a deadly blow of magic which pierces her torso. Enraged by the death of their companion, the other witches advance on Sudana, but she is able to fend them off, allowing Hank to vanish into the Wall of Souls in hopes of rescuing Kon.
After Hank's departure, Samsun arrives, knocking Sudana to the ground with a bolt of dark magic, preparing to devour her magical essence.
